Chamber Chatter
John Courtis from the Yuma County Chamber of Commerce invited Rex and Caitlyn to be his guests on Chamber Chatter this week. We talked about how Yuma businesses can #ThinkYumaFirst and help local, low-income children in the community through the Arizona Corporate Tuition Tax Credit. Many community-minded businesses have stepped forward to help kids attend a school that meets their needs. If your C Corporation or S Corporation is interested in the credit, contact us by June 25th so we can submit an application on your behalf to the State of Arizona. Find out more on our website: https://bit.ly/2w6jA6U or call us at (928) 726-9470.

The deadline to Contribute to STOs for 2019 is coming up!
Although the Arizona tax deadline has moved to July 15th, the deadline to contribute to STAY and claim the credit for 2019 remains April 15th. A donation to STAY means keeping tax dollars in Yuma and giving students here the opportunity to get the education that best fits their needs.

Why Not?
Many people wait for their tax professional to give them their total Arizona liability to determine how much to contribute to an STO like STAY. This may not work this year because many tax professionals are overwhelmed with all the changes occurring due to COVID-19. Additionally, the Arizona tax deadline has moved to July 15th, but the deadline to contribute to STAY and claim the credit for 2019 remains April 15th. We encourage you to consider contributing the full amount allowed, if you’re able. Any excess above your Arizona liability will carry forward for up to five years. Your contribution will help local children right here in Yuma.

Arizona Tax Credits
Both the federal and the Arizona individual income tax filing deadlines have been moved to July 15th for the 2019 tax year. Although the filing deadline has moved, the deadline to contribute to STOs like STAY to claim a 2019 Arizona tax credit remains April 15th. The deadline for the credit is set by statute and the Arizona Department of Revenue (ADOR) cannot change the date. Please consider keeping your money right here in Yuma to help local kids. You can contribute on our website: https://bit.ly/2GlOEo8
